In the 1950s Giuseppe Inama, the estate s founder, began purchasing small plots of vineyards in the heart of the Soave Classico region using nothing more than his savings - at that time, few understood the area s potential. But Giuseppe was a believer. His idea was to assemble only top quality vineyards of old-vine Garganega and fashion from them a wine capable of restoring Soave s reputation.
Thanking to its fabulous flavouring and fragrant features, Inama wines have won lots of different awards as well as thousands of people s hearts. These wines were recognized by numerous critics, sommeliers and the greatest elite alcohol connoisseurs as one of the best wines in their way.
As for the awards, it should be noted, that in the year 2006 Inama winery had obtained a “Cinque Grappoli” award, founded by IAS (Italian Association of Sommeliers) – one of two winning units, Vulcaia Fume Sauvignon IGT, is apparent in portfolio of Sommelier LTD. At the present IAS plays a very important role in selection process of the most qualitative wines. During the whole year, the Association experts taste approximately 20 thousand of different wines of 1,5 thousand wineries, 5% of which can reach the final, and 2-3% may obtain the award.
The wine Vin Soave Classico DOC is the one that brought an exceptional fame to Inama winery, having reached 90 points at the tasting of world-famous Wine Spectator magazine in 2007, and the one that had been gently mentioned in New York Times paper a couple of times. When asked about how come do they make this perfect Soave wine, Stefano Inama, - the son of the winery s founder, usually says, that he adores Garganega grape, but it is quite hard to cultivate. You can read any books, but none of them would help you to make Soave the way that a real vine man can do it.
